Film & Time: Fail-Safe, Twomey Auditorium. The film is 120 minutes so prepare accordingly. And be prepared to take notes since you already know what the questions are.
Assignment: Students will watch the film Fail-Safe (1964) and answer the questions below in essay form. Do not watch the version of the film released in 2000. Please follow these guidelines:
• The essay should run between 800 and 1000 words. Essays that run short will be penalized. They should be typed, and double-spaced in 12 point Times font (Times is what I am using on this sheet). Essays not double-spaced or stapled will not be accepted.
• Students MUST put the word count at the end of their paper. ½ letter grade off for not doing this.
• The paper should be in proper essay form with paragraphs and topic sentences. Just like in the real world, grammar and spelling are important and will be part of your grade.
• Please proofread these papers. Sloppy writing usually means sloppy thinking.
• DO NOT use any other outside sources (like the Internet) other than your textbook. I am looking for your responses, not whatever you can piece together from surfing the internet. It would be a shame to fail the class because of plagiarism on a simple extra credit assignment.
