environmental behavior
environmental behavior
The goal of the paper will be to examine and/or design an educational program that would have an impact on your own motivation to engage in pro-environmental behavior. The paper will be graded out of 20 points.
You must first provide a brief introduction to the program. If it is a program you are examining, provide a few sentences in the introduction regarding the location, duration, and goal of the program. If it is a program you are creating from scratch, provide a few sentences in the introduction regarding what you would like the location, duration, and goal of the program to be. *worth 2 points
If you are designing a program from scratch, identify 5 factors discussed in class you believe would be most likely to influence your motivation toward pro-environmental behavior.
If you are examining an educational program, identify up to five factors that are present in the program that help to motivate you toward pro-environmental behavior. If there are fewer than five factors in the program, identify the factors you would like to add to the program that would influence your motivation. There should be a total of 5 factors identified, including factors already present in the program and/or factors that you would like to add.
For each factor you identify, you must:
1) describe/define the factor (e.g., exposure to nature – what is nature in this case? How is nature defined?) *worth 1 point for each factor, for a total of 5 points
2) describe one research finding related to this factor (e.g., Kahn et al.’s findings on exposure to real vs. simulated nature). *worth 1 point for each factor, for a total of 5 points
3) describe why you think the factor is particularly influential for you. This will require some self-reflection – how have you reacted to discussion of this factor? (e.g., When I thought about being in nature, I realized that it had value for me). *worth 1 point for each factor, for a total of 5 pointsCLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THIS TOPIC
