Compare and contrast the way in which women were understood and treated, on the one hand, in the ancient societies of the Middle East (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Isreal, etc.), and on the other hand, in Ancient Greece and Rome.
Compare and contrast the way in which women were understood and treated, on the one hand, in the ancient societies of the Middle East (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Isreal, etc.), and on the other hand, in Ancient Greece and Rome. Did any one of these societies stand out to you as treating women better, or perhaps, particularly poorly? Did the status of women, at any point, appear to have substantially improved with time or place? Or did women’s status more or less remain the same? Or did it get worse?
