Has your view of the term “hacker” changed?

I’ve heard speculation that “energy”, rather than money, could be the currency of the future.

If that is true, might hacker skill not be considered an important type of skill for defending such an interest?

And what about the hacktivists making news lately…

3_current internet access combined with social media innovations such as facebook and twitter have already served as catalyst for radical changes in social and political realities world wide. now, with the one laptop per child initiative (http://youtu.be/15334H6GZdY), combined with the advanced wireless “grid networks” being deployed in africa, and other undeveloped areas, there is speculation that billions more will join the global conversation in the near future.
