Annotated bibliography
1. Summary of source (2-3 sentences): What are the source’s main points? What new information is presented? (You have already done this!)
2. Evaluation of author’s credibility and the source/article’s accuracy (2-3 sentences): why is this source credible? What is the author’s background? Who sponsors the publication?
3. Assessment of source’s significance/relevance (1-2 sentences): how does this source relate to your thesis statement and argument? Does it provide evidence for one of your main points?
4. Assessment of the source’s quality (1-2 sentences): is the evidence presented in the source relevant? Is the evidence presented in the source fairly interpreted? is the source well-reasoned (e.g., does not contain sweeping generalizations, addresses major oppositions to the argument, and contains clear and precise reasoning)? is the source unbiased?
· Make sure to include in-text citations after all of your annotation. An APA formatted in-text citation typically includes the author’s last name and the year of publication in parentheses, like this (Jones, 2011).
