Write a 500 word* soliloquy, describing as deeply as you can, the
feelings and concerns of a person of a cultural, racial or ethnic group
that you have seen as opposed to your own. It should be on a (JEWISH
PERSON). You can either make a person up or write from the viewpoint of
someone you actually know. You are to become the person you are writing
about–to write about his/her feelings and concerns–the way she/he thinks
and talks just to themselves. You might think about he/she is afraid
of, what he/she is worried about, what he/she cares for, how he/she
feels about himself, about you-or anything else you think he/she might
be concerned with.
Give the person a name, a place, and write 1-2 sentences describing his/her age and background before you begin your soliloquy.
The purpose of this assignment, is to see the feelings of people
different from ourselves as real–just as real as our own. The reason
this is so important is because it opposes the feeling people have that
they have a right to see other people and things any way they please–to
get importance for themselves by making less of people they see as
different from themselves. Make it sound believable.CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THIS TOPIC
