Lean thinking in Operations Management is based on five concepts which are
value / flow / pull / standardiation / kaizen.

The application of these five concepts to an organisation drives waste out of the production processes. There are eight types of waste recognised in this system which are:- overproduction / waiting time / movement within plant / inventory / transport between plants / overprocessing / defective products / under used employee creativity.
