1. Evaluate this comment: “It’s hard to argue against courtesy, but businesspeople don’t have time to spend extra effort on it. Anyway, they want their documents to go straight to the point without wasting words and without sugar coating.” What position would you take regarding this comment. Defend your perspective.
2. “Words carry the message. They would carry the same meanings with or without paragraphing. Therefore, paragraphing has no effect on communication.” Discuss your view of this statement and provide an example which supports your analysis.
3. Memorandums and email messages differ more than letters in their physical makeup. Explain the differences between each of these types of messages and in what circumstance you would use one over the other.
4. Explain when the direct order is appropriate in inquiries. When would you use the indirect order? Defend your remarks with examples.
