American Military Transformation – 1776 to 1918
No period of American military history saw more change than from the birth of the U.S. to the end of World War I. American armies went from militias of volunteers fighting on U.S. soil to organized, professional forces partnering with their former ruling country (Great Britain) to stop German aggression. For the Research Paper, you will analyze the major changes in the American military by selecting one of the following topics for analysis and comparing its transformation in each of the following periods.
