American Military Transformation – 1776 to 1918

No period of American military history saw more change than from the birth of the U.S. to the end of World War I. American armies went from militias of volunteers fighting on U.S. soil to organized, professional forces partnering with their former ruling country (Great Britain) to stop German aggression. For the Research Paper, you will analyze the major changes in the American military by selecting one of the following topics for analysis and comparing its transformation in each of the following periods.

Writing the Research Paper
The Research Paper:
Must be a minimum of eight (8) double-spaced pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA (6th ed.) style as outlined in the approved style guide.
Must use a minimum of five (5) sources, two of which can be found in the Ashford Online Library.
Must provide a cover page that includes:
Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted
Must address one of the topics and all the time periods found in the Research Paper guidelines.
Must begin with an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
Must end with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
Must use APA (6th ed.) style as outlined in the approved APA style guide to document all sources.
Must include a Reference Page that is completed according to APA (6th ed.) style.
